The Garden Bird is a Surrey based gardening service supporting businesses with their planting needs.
A green filled pub garden, an eye catching entrance planter or a showy hanging basket can really make a business stand out. More importantly, any planting needs to be maintained and cared for; showing customers that you take pride in your business. This is often what businesses struggle with as they don't have the time to do it themselves and the large gardening companies are less interested in providing that type of service at the time required.

Hanging Baskets & Planters
Planters and hanging baskets are a great way to brighten up your business environment and make it more inviting. The Garden Bird can create a planting scheme from scratch or maintain an existing one.
Maintenance
Keep your plants healthy and vibrant with our regular maintenance services including; watering, weeding, feeding, dead heading, pruning, shaping and replacing unhealthy plants.
Seasonal Planting
There is nothing wrong with keeping a classic evergreen planting option all year round but adding seasonal colours keeps it fresh and eye catching.
Personalised Advice
Plants, like us, need the right environment to thrive. Some are shameless sun worshippers whilst others are shady characters. The Garden Bird can provide you with advice on what works best for your setting.
Decorating
The Garden Bird can also help you with those niggly decorating jobs that you just never get round to or can't find anyone else to do such as freshening up the skirting boards or repainting a garden fence. As with the gardening services, no job is too small.
Who is The Garden Bird?
It's me, Sam.
Mum, wife, pet owner, wannabe runner, lover of wine and salty snacks and gardener.
After many years of jobs across the public, private and charity sectors, I have finally found what I want to do when I grow up. I have always enjoyed gardening but used to feel somewhat intimidated by it. I then started to garden alongside a close friend who is an experienced and very knowledgeable gardener. This is when I started to fall in love with gardening and appreciate the power of plants.
The idea to start my own business came to me whilst working for a multi-site London based pub company. I was predominantly supporting them with their planting but also did some decorating and admin. An unusual mixture but I had found my calling. Working outdoors, being creative and physical, meeting different people, travelling to new sites, chatting to customers and passers-by and walking away feeling proud of what I had achieved.
And so The Garden Bird was hatched! The aim of the business is to use planting to help businesses look and feel their best.

I offer flexible pricing that’s tailored to your needs. Whether you’re looking for a one-time service to refresh your existing containers or a project-based approach to source and supply planters, I have options that work for you. Hourly Rate
Most jobs are charged at an hourly rate to keep things simple. I will always give you an accurate estimate on how long a particular job will take or you can tell me how many hours you wish to pay for and I will be clear on what can be achieved in this time.
Project Rate
Sometimes it makes sense for the larger projects to be charged as a whole rather than an hourly rate. Again, we can discuss this to agree what works best.
Maintenance Rate
Some businesses, particularly through the busy spring and summer months, prefer to have a regular weekly or fortnightly visit. If you're close by, I am also happy to water your plants on a daily basis.
GALLERY
These are a few of my recent jobs. Plants are put in to create a ready-display, but still allow for space for them to grow and mature. For autumn and winter, I generally use more hardy evergreens with some flowering interest with some bright annuals for additional colour. For spring and summer, annuals combined with perennials create a burst of gorgeous seasonal colour but require a little more maintenance. Design and planting recommendations are based upon clients' budgets and requirements.
